Melina Cristina Bridal Couture has been selected as the exclusive wedding dress designer/provider for the Houston Renaissance Festival.  Melina Cristina will be working with brides who are getting married at the festival, designing either traditional dresses or themed dresses.

Beat the Summer Wedding Heat

Summer can be a great time to get married - the sun is shining and the flowers are in bloom...but nature can rear her ugly head, creating discomfort for your guests.  Don't fear!!  Here are some quick tips for your summer wedding:

1.) As a bride, put on sunscreen before you get in your dress.  Make sure it is dry so that you don't worry about staining anything.  Nothing would kill wedding night romance like a painful third degree burn!!
2.) Offer sunscreen as a welcoming gift in either your guests' hotel rooms, or at the entry to your wedding ceremony.  They make great sunscreen wipes to avoid greasy hands.
3.) And while you are at it, throw some insect repellent wipes in, too!
4.) A cute idea is to offer fans with a picture of you and your groom for your guests to cool off!
5.) And, of course, offer plenty of water!!

Bridal with a Purpose

Here at Melina Cristina Bridal Couture, we believe that wedding dresses have super powers (hey, a veil is kind of like a cape, right?)!!  They can save the world!!  With your help and our nonprofits, they can. One is called People Helping People WorldWide. This non profit focuses on drilling water wells in Africa! The other one is Couture for a Cause focusing on building schools throughout the world and giving hope to our young. 20% of all my sales go towards the charity of our clients choice. 

Recently the Boutique held an event where Melina Cristina Bridal Couture donated a gown to a military couple who are worlds apart but longing for the perfect gown. A flag is being flown in Iraq in the Boutique's honor then presented to Melina Cristina in a shadow box along with a certified letter from the US Military. What can be better than that?? :)
